Who should attend?
Nearly 300 Community Action professionals, partners, vendors, elected officials, and OCA staff and leadership will join us at the 2020 Winter Legislative Conference! This conference is appropriate for all staff levels within your agency including planners, board members, entry-, mid-, and senior management and staff, case managers, program staff, and more.
Focused workshop tracks include:
-
Energy: Energy efficient homes are not only good for the environment they can help stabilize and reduce low-income households’ utility usage and costs thereby lowering housing costs. This track includes workshops specifically for energy efficiency programs that can or are being implemented at Community Action Agencies.
-
Fiscal/Human Resources: For many of our member agencies, Fiscal and Human Resources responsibilities are the responsibility of the same staff member and/or have a significant crossover, thus the motivation for combining the areas. This track includes workshops covering pressing issues currently impacting both departments throughout the network. Previous workshops include UGG Regulation changes, Financial Reporting changes, Risk Management, DOL changes, Exempt vs. Nonexempt, and more.
-
Hot Topics: This track includes workshops that address high profile and immediately relevant issues that many Ohio communities are working to combat. Previous workshops included the opioid crisis, mental health, human trafficking, addiction, and more.
-
Youth: There are a variety of youth-specific programs operated at Community Action Agencies across Ohio and America. This track is dedicated to program staff working with youth 0-17 years old, including Head Start, Early Head Start, summer youth employment programs, teens, after school at-risk, and more. Topics will focus on behavior, brain development, and more that impact children.
