Celebrating the power of books and partnerships

Community leaders, literacy advocates, and program partners recently gathered to celebrate the continued success of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio and the impact it has had on children and families across the state. The program serves children in all 88 Ohio counties through a network of more than 70 local partner organizations dedicated to promoting early childhood literacy.

Hosted by Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine, the event provided an opportunity to recognize the organizations and individuals working together to ensure young children have access to books from an early age.

In Northeast Ohio, Lifeline, Inc., Ashtabula County Community Action Agency, and Community Action Wayne/Medina are among the program’s partner organizations. The organizations help carry Dolly Parton’s vision forward by connecting children and families with free, age-appropriate books. Together, the three agencies distribute over 17,000 books to local children each month!

Every book delivered is an investment in a child’s future. Together, these partners are building stronger readers, stronger learners, and stronger communities, one book and one child at a time.
