On June 21, Jodi Noel opened her Washington C.H. home in commemoration of National Homeownership Month and the successful (near!) completion of her Mutual Self-Help rehabilitation and renovation. With the self-help portion of the project undertaken in partnership with the Community Action Commission of Fayette County, Jodi’s home was financed through USDA Rural Development’s Single Family Housing Direct loan program.

Ohio Housing Program Director Gerald Arnott, Single Family Housing Specialist Mark Gideon, Loan Assistant Joan Simmons, and Area Assistant Summer Woolever joined the Fayette County Community Action Agency, local and state elected officials, and other community members for the celebration. Jodi was presented with a decorative plant for her front yard; a nice addition to the impressive raised-bed gardens and fruit-bearing trees already blossoming in the back.
