Community Action Leadership Training 2022

Description

The Community Action Leadership Training series is back again this year! The series is available free of charge to OACAA members in good standing and is suitable for aspiring, emerging, and experienced leaders across Ohio. Topics include how to understand yourself and others, incorporating changes, building capacity, and leading performance.

This training series is open and free to OACAA members only, though participants are required to commit to attending all five workshops. To be considered for this series, interested participants should complete an application online before June 13, 2022.

Workshops 1 and 5 will be held in person in Columbus Ohio; workshops 2-3 will be virtual. All workshops will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. with short breaks throughout. Participants must commit to attending all five workshops and completing one hour of pre-work per workshop.


Speaker Bios

Brian Cole Miller

As an author, teacher, and team builder Brian Cole Miller brings people together in inclusive, direct, and honest ways. His passion for helping people improve relationships is based on his belief in being truthful without being brutal.

Brian holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Development and has over 25 years of experience working with the Public and Private sectors and teaching at community colleges and universities.

He has worked with Nationwide Insurance; NAIS’s People of Color Conference; Agencies in the State of Ohio; Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield; Communications Workers of America (CWA); US Air Force; American Red Cross

In 2007, VISA chose him to be their spokesperson for their small-business web campaign and Franklin Covey tapped him to write a book for them on balancing home and work life.

Brian’s insight, humor, and energy focus on results and he measures his own success by how he helps others to succeed.
