Returning to the workplace, and then what? “A Focus on Teambuilding”
While some people are itching to return to their office, many others are feeling anxious, nervous, concerned and much more. So, what does all this mean for you, your co-workers, your supervisor, the Company, and so many other items, issues, and individuals that impact and influence each of us.
This workshop will focus on many of these issues, by starting with you and your foundation and how to build upon that foundation in a constructive manner, individually and collectively, as we return to the worksite.
Before many of us left the workplace to working-from-home, we functioned as a team focused on getting the job done. Naturally, some teams were working better than others, but we still pulled together in our own ways to accomplish the desired outcomes. We continued to do this while many of us worked remotely, and we will continue to do our part once we return to the “Traditional” worksite. But it will be DIFFERENT.
We will focus on how you can prepare yourself to return, considering you may not be the same person you were before Covid-19. Also, how your employer must prepare, and simple strategies, concepts, principles, & action steps you can incorporate. We will discuss “The Power of Respect” and its strong connection to “Teambuilding” and the “Re-Building” of teams.
We will discuss situational responses for many interactions, like someone standing too close in the coffee line, someone ignoring safety protocols, someone who wants to tell you their horror story, someone complaining about everything, and many more. We will discuss the need to “Re-Establish” your routine and the importance of structure and balance.
Even with all the issues we anticipate and will encounter as we return to the worksite, we all have the ability and responsibility to make the transition easier on ourselves and our co-workers. This workshop will show you how to do this in a positive, constructive, and confident manner.
As we have heard so many times “We are ALL in this TOGETHER”

Trent Grooms is the founder of T. Grooms & Associates, Inc., a human resources consulting firm established in 1986 and is living and pursuing the American dream. With more than thirty (30) years of experience in the human resources field, Trent has seen and experienced a broad range of individuals and situations that have provided him with a wealth of knowledge and exposures.
Over his professional career, Trent has successfully translated the lessons learned from competitive academics and athletics on the high school, college, and professional levels into the corporate business world. As a graduate of Cleveland Central Catholic High School, Trent attended Kent State University on a basketball scholarship and began a stellar collegiate career by becoming KSU’s all-time leading rebounder and the only player in KSU basketball history to record over 1,000 points and over 1,000 rebounds in a career. Trent remains KSU’s all-time leading rebound, a record that has stood for over 37 years. Trent was drafted into the NBA when he was selected by the Kansas City Kings, and was inducted into the KSU “Hall of Fame” in 1989 and the Cleveland Central Catholic “Hall of Fame” in 2013.
Also while at Kent, Trent received two (2) Bachelors of Business Administration degrees in Business Management, Industrial Relations, and Economics and completed his first degree in just over three (3) years. Trent continued his education while completing 75% of a Masters in Economic from the University of Akron prior to relocating for another career opportunity. Trent continued to develop his leadership skills by being names a Co-Captain of the Kent Varsity basketball team his junior and senior years. He was elected as the President of the Minority Business Association and named the “Scholar Athlete of the Year” for all Kent State athletics for 1980.
Through his experiences Trent has conducted staff development and skill enhancement training workshops for public and private sector employers ranging in size from small mom & pop organizations to fortune 500 companies. Also, through T. Grooms & Associates and the Recruitment Alliance Network, Trent has actively conducted more than 50 municipal safety forces recruitment campaigns for Police Officers and/or Fire Fighters. Additionally, Trent has worked in the community action environment for approximately twenty (20) years. On a personal note, Trent has volunteered as a youth basketball coach for 12 and 13-year-old youths, actively participated in fund raising for the American Cancer Society “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer”, was a ten (10) year participant in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, a United Way Loaned Executive, and was the former Chairperson of the Goodwill/Easter Seals Business Advisory Council (BAC).
Trent’s extensive experience, training, and direct exposure and interaction with a broad range of individuals, situations, and environments has provided him a perspective that is well suited and compatible with the current environment and challenges that many organizations will face in the years to come.
