The Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies (OACAA), in partnership with Strategic Research Group, is pleased to announce the release of the 2026 State of Poverty in Ohio Report, continuing a more than 30-year commitment to providing data, analysis, and insight into the challenges facing low-income Ohioans.
This year’s report takes a new approach by focusing on the core data and indicators that policymakers, community leaders, advocates, researchers, and local organizations rely on throughout the year. While it does not include the issue-specific sections featured in previous editions, the report continues to provide data of Ohio families and the communities in which they live.
Data alone cannot tell the entire story of poverty, but it can help deepen our understanding of the barriers families face and guide efforts to create meaningful pathways to self-sufficiency. As we develop the next generation of the State of Poverty in Ohio Report, which we anticipate releasing in May 2027, we believe this consolidated report will support decision-making that strengthens communities throughout Ohio.
