We are proud to have Jeannette Jarrett as part of our team and thank her for her many contributions to the Community Action mission.

Name: Jeannette Jarrett
Title: Operations and Support Specialist
Organization: Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies (OACAA)
Time with Community Action: 24 years

Jeannette Jarrett joined the OACAA team in 2016 as Operations and Support Specialist, and previously served as OACAA Project Manager from 2005 to 2007. In her current role she provides expertise throughout the office by supporting OACAA projects and initiatives. She also serves as an expert and liaison with the Head Start program.

Jeannette began her journey with Community Action as a Head Start parent in 1992 when her son participated in a home-based program. She quickly became an active parent serving on the Shepard/Woodland Head Start parent committee and CMACAO Head Start Policy Council. After her son transitioned to school in 1994, Jeannette had become so passionate about the Community Action mission and the Head Start program that she began her career in early childhood and social services. Over the course of twenty years she has held various positions including Home Visitor and Parent Involvement Manager.

Certified in seven family and relationship curriculums, and working towards completing certification as a parliamentarian, Jeannette is an avid learner and goal-oriented person. As active member of her church, Jeannette serves on the Missionary Guild and has taught biblical history and bible study for over 23 years. When she is not working at OACAA or with families as a Parent Mentor and Trainer for the Parent Ambassadors program, she is editing books or academic papers for aspiring and published writers. Jeannette is also working on her own novel and plans to complete her undergraduate degree in English or Theological Studies.

Jeannette governs her life by the Helen Keller quote, “Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.”
